15 Weeks

We went to the doctor yesterday for our montly prenatal visit, and Dr. Bain said everything looks good! We were able to hear the heartbeat, and that was pretty amazing! So far to date, I have gained 6 pounds. We hope to share photos throughout the pregnancy! We are planning to have our structural ultrasound around Thanksgiving to determine the sex.

14 Weeks!

We are currently 14 weeks and into our second trimester! We go back to the doctor on October 21st for our monthly check-up! Right now, Baby Geddes is about the size of a fist. I am feeling a lot better. During the first two months I had bad nausea--not really throwing up, but just bad nausea. I ate crackers all day long at school and that helped a lot. I was also exhausted. I would come home from school and take an 1-2 hour nap and then go to bed around 8-9. But now, I am back to my normal bedtime, and the nausea is going away. I even have enough energy now to go to the gym after school. I am not having any cravings yet so we will see if that changes. I am starting to get a small pooch. I can fit into only two pairs of my normal pants without using my bella band. Charlotte and my friend Meredith both gave me containers of maternity clothes that I can wear. That is all until our next appointment! Love Jo and DJ

12 Weeks

We had our 12 week appointment on September 30th! When our nurse tried to find the heart beat using the doppler (a listening machine), she joked that we are having a boy, because Baby Geddes would not stay still to listen to the heart beat. The baby finally was still for about 3 seconds for us to hear the heart beat!

We are Expecting!

DJ and I are expecting! We are due April 15th (tax day and Carren's birthday)! The two of us found out on August 9th, but we kept it a secret until Labor Day. We told our parents beforehand, but everyone else had to wait until Labor Day! And, that was a little difficult! At the lake on Labor Day, we announced it to everyone right before dinner. Dennis had everyone count off before we did the blessing for dinner, and I was in position to go last. When it was my turn, I said "56' and then I raised my shirt (Elizabeth had written Baby G on my stomach earlier) and said "57"! Everyone was so excited!
